Who are The Average Joes?

Brendan Cybulski

Brendan was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley. From the time he could hold a rod, he spent almost all of his spare time fishing. His summers were spent on the shores of Round Lake, either swimming or wetting a line. He gained a deep love and knowledge of fishing from his father Wayne, who was known locally to be able to catch a fish in a dry well. Brendan grew up with a strong passion for trout fishing, more specifically for Brook Trout. After many years of adventures in Algonquin Park, as well as many more on other local waterbodies throughout the Valley, he decided it was time to share his passion for the outdoors and fishing with the world. Along with his fishing buddy Lyle, they created The Average Joes Fishing Show on YouTube. Now going into its third year, Brendan hopes to grow the channel and Average Joes brand to much greater heights.

Fun Facts about Brendan

Lyle Hendrick

Lyle was born and raised in South Frontenac, Ontario. His love for fishing started as soon as he could walk, talk and hold a fishing rod. As a kid (4-5yrs old) Lyle would spend countless hours fishing at his grandparents trailer or at the cottage they rented every year, often skipping breakfast, lunch and dinner just to catch all the sunfish he could off the dock. Once he ran out of worms, he would catch minnows to then use them for bait and catch all kinds of crappie and bass. This deep passion from a young kid grew even greater with the guidance and mentorship from his dad (Dave), which then grew into an obsession for the outdoors and backcountry when he heard about stocked brook trout and other adventures in their local Frontenac Provincial Park. Through high school, then college, Algonquin Park brook trout always seemed like a dream. Lyle and Brendan met in college, soon after making Lyle's Algonquin brook trout dream come true. Years later Lyle and Brendan decided to share their adventures and created The Average Joes Fishing Show.
